A leading winery located in a renowned Australian wine region was facing significant challenges with their wastewater treatment infrastructure. Aerated Lagoon System:
Two large-capacity aerated lagoons were introduced to provide effective biological treatment of wastewater. Six high-performance Fuchs Oxystar aerators were used to optimise oxygen transfer and enhance the breakdown of organic matter, ensuring efficient treatment.
Tertiary Filtration & UV Disinfection:
To further refine the effluent before discharge, Waterform implemented high-efficiency media filters. Additionally, a UV Strike Disinfection System was incorporated to ensure that the treated water met all microbial limits set by the EPA, guaranteeing safe discharge.
Smart Automation & Remote Monitoring:
The system was integrated with iSiteControl for 24/7 remote monitoring, providing real-time tracking of performance and enabling proactive maintenance. SCADA-based PLC controls were implemented for automated operation, minimising manual intervention and ensuring optimal system performance.
Infrastructure Enhancements:
The solution also included the repurposing of an existing holding dam for treated water storage, improving efficiency in managing treated effluent. Site improvements, such as earthen bunding, were implemented to facilitate effective irrigation and management of the treated water.
